General Information:
The violin and viola masterclass Under the Direction of Andrej Bielow, Lukas David Çiğdem İyici and Ruşen Güneş will accept 24 participants for the violin and viola classes in total.
The masterclass will begin on the 9th July 2012 in the morning. The participants are kindly asked to arrive in Ayvalik one day before, i.e. 8th of July. The night of the 11th of July is included to the fee. The masterclass will end on the 16th of July 2012 in the afternoon, the participants should leave the academy on the 16th of july in the evening. The night of the 16th of july is not included to the fee.
Participants should send the complete documents required until 8 June 2012. The documents will be examined and the definitive participants will be declared via email. Definitive participants should pay the 100Euros registration fee to the bank account mentioned until 15th June 2012.
The remaining 300Euros application fee should be paid to the bank account mentioned until 22th June 2012. This fee includes accommodation and breakfast.

Andrej Bielow
Andrej Bielow is prizewinner of the international competitions such as the Long-Thibaut Paris (2002) ARD Munich ( 1999) Hannover Violin Competition dedicated to Joseph Joachim (2000) and others. During the last years due to his extraordinary talent and musical qualities he was awarded different scholarships from the cultural institutions such as the Ukrainian Culture Foundation, Theodor Lessing Foundation, Foundation Kulturregion Hannover, Gerd-Bucerius-ZEIT-Foundation, Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and Förderpreis of the Lower Saxony
As a Soloist he collaborated with such renowned Orchestras like New Japan Philharmonic, Orchestra National de Radio France, NDR Radiophilharmonie, Sinfonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Amadeus Chamber Orchestra and Münchner Kammerorchester under the bottom of established conductors such as Kurt Masur, Yan Pascal Tortelier, Gianandrea Noseda, Miguel Gomez-Martinez, Christian Arming, Agnieszka Duzcmal, Junichi Hirokami und Christoph Poppen, just to name few of them.
As a chamber musician he was a guest at the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, Niedersächsische Musiktage, Kuhmo Chamber Musik Festival, Festival Mecklenburg Vorpommern and many others. At the Kronberg Acadamy he performed with Gidon Kremer, Juri Bashmet and the Beaux Arts Trio. Since November 2005 he is a leader of the established Szymanowski Quartett and took a teaching position at the University of Music and Drama Hannover. Since then he regularly giving Masterclasses in Europe , Asia and USA.
Andrej plays Guarneri Joseph Filius violin from the „Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben“.

Lukas
David (violin)
Born in Austria, David is the son of the distinguished Austrian
composer Johann Nepomuk David.
Studied at the Leipzig Conservatory and Salzburg Mozarteum with
Nathan Milstein and Tibor Varga.
In 1959 he started teaching violin at the Musikhochschule in Vienna.
In 1966 he became a Professor at the North West Germany Musikakademie
in Detmold.
Since 1956 he has a very busy concert career as soloist, chamber
musician and orchestra conductor in all European and Near Eastern
countries, in USA, South America and South Africa.
He has been recording with Deutsche Grammophon, Elektrola and Supraphon.
Lukas David is very much interested in contemporary music. He has
given the first world performances of many new works dedicated to
him. His repertoire includes almost all the classical, romantic
and contemporary works composed for violin.

Cigdem Iyicil (violin)
Born in Istanbul, she started to study the violin with Tahir Sevenay,
followed by Ekrem Zeki Ün, Gönül Gökdogan and Erdogan Saydam at
the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory. Graduating both from the Conservatory
and Bogaziçi University, she enrolled in Detmold Music Academy in
Germany and began her studies there with Prof. Lukas David in 1980.
She also became a member of the Tibor Varga Chamber Orchestra. Graduating
from Detmold Music Academy, she returned to Istanbul and started
teaching at the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory. She was
invited to Portugal by the Ministry of Culture to start a new Conservatory
of Music in Lisbon with Prof. Tibor Varga, where she stayed a year. After being titeled as Proffessor she became Chair of the Strings Department at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University
State Conservatory.
Prof. Çiğdem Iyicil has been elected Diderctor of the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts Universty State Conservatory in 2010 and she is still teaching violin and continues to perform both solo and with orchestras
in Turkey and abroad. |

Ruşen Güneş (viola)
One of the most renown Turkish violist Ruşen Güneş was born in Ankara. He graduated from Ankara State Conservatory in 1961. After his graduation, he served as a violist in the Presidential Symphony Orchestra.
In 1963, Güneş received a fellowship and went to England. In 1970, he moved permanently to England and in 1979, he became Principal Violist of the London Philharmonic Orchestra in 1979, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra in 1989.
Ruşen Güneş made the Turkish premières of composers such as Walton, Bartok, Hindemith and performed many of Turkish composers's works for viola. In 1998, Güneş received the title of State Artist from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. He has appeared as a soloist with orchestras in the United Kingdom and abroad. Güneş is a member of the London String Quartet as well as many other chamber groups. |
